I feel like I've wasted my life, how can I turn it back around?

This may or may not help, but I’m gonna make it a list so I don’t end up writing you a book.

1). Stop thinking you’re out of time already. Sure it takes you longer to do things, but you are literally only 30% of the way through life (provided you are healthy and not hit by a bus) - you have 70% more of it to go, and most of those years, still young and able.

2.) Whoever or whatever you’re comparing yourself to - stop that too. I only just got my drivers license at 32, and only just got myself into a career at around the same age too. I spent my childhood taking care of my drunk step dad and kid brother, went to school and work, depressed and lonely, and graduated believing that my only purpose was to be of use to someone else. Needless to say, I was 28 before I realized I could go and have experiences and learn new things. I haven’t tried most sports, I have barely travelled, and im forcing myself to learn guitar (as of about a month ago) - because I don’t want to waste my time, telling myself I wasted my time.

So if you need annnyone to compare yourself to, please use me. You’re doing just fine, and you aren’t in a rush. Knowing what you want, and realizing that YOU are the only person stopping you - is a huge first step. So, whenever you’re ready, start something new. You aren’t out of time.

3.) Remember that you have to be bad at things before you’re good at them. And for some of us, that’s life in general. You’re lazy, you admit it. Okay, done. Me too. And some days it takes SO MUCH EFFORT just to be a human, but I want to feel human and I want to give myself a fighting chance. So, while I do feel like a bad human sometimes, at least I am trying and hopeful that one day, I’ll be better at it.

4.) Decide to be better. Literally the name of this forum, but it’s got gold in it. You have to decide what you want more. YouTube to fall asleep to, or taking one step toward one of the adventures you have been dreaming in your mind? Decide on something you want bad enough, and Take 1 step at a time. Want to travel? Fill out the passport form. Tomorrow bring it in. The next day, pick a destination. Or you want to learn something new? First day, pick something. Second day, look for lessons in the city, or an app, or watch YouTube about that when you go to sleep. Day after that, try it out. You don’t have to do everything in a day, you just need to decide on one. And I’ve been told it helps to make a plan. (I’m not a plan maker, but I have a general goal of 5 days a week of exercise and 3 days a week of guitar etc etc… it’s working for me, but some people need more structure - you may need to choose which days have which things, and write it on a calendar, or tell people you respect of what your plan is… solidify the decision by writing it down and sharing it. Decide decide decide. Every day, decide.

5) jangan cuma omdo, buktikan dengan tindakan. dan hidup minimalis

6) berkeringat ketika ngomong dengan orang, yauda accept kalo lu begini orang nya, anggap aja itu wajar, semua orang berkeringat ketika ngomong

7) If you're struggling to get your writing done, you might not understand what writing actually is. “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough."

8) If you make a mistake, admit to the mistake, apologize, and explain what steps you'll take to prevent it from happening again in the future. It's very hard for people to yell at you if you've done that.

9) If you tired its lie, lu baru pake 40% energi, and masih ada sekita 60% energi yang tersembunyi di tubuh

10) Once again, it feels too late, but I'm going to fight those negative thoughts. So, I've enrolled myself into a few classes to change careers, and on top of that, I'm going to pursue my passions once again. Why not? We don't know how much time we have, so why not live for today?

My advice is simple: pick something and do it. No more sitting around thinking about it. Just do it (even if it's something as simple as cleaning your room!) and if you don't like it, find something else to try. I get it, I really do. I often do things in my head and feel fulfilled by that alone. Writing this comment was hard! But people like us have to find ways to attach ourselves to the real world - we can't stay in our daydreams forever.

No one ever has all the answers, we are all just moving forward like everyone else, and nothing in your life will change if you don't change it. You got this!
